About Us
The educational program of Plattsmouth High School is comprehensive in nature, designed to meet the diverse needs of students who plan on further education, military service, or immediate employment upon graduation. PHS offers more than 130 courses for over 550 students.
Plattsmouth High School was constructed in 1996 and showcases the pride that the students and community members have in their schools. The High School facility provides a 600 seat auditorium, two gymnasiums, five computer labs, and an industrial technology lab. On the high school campus is an outdoor nature classroom; football, track, and softball fields and a state-of-the-art fitness center give students a chance to test their athleticism.
The extracurricular programs are diverse with students having opportunities to participate in music, dramatics, athletics, academic competitions, forensics, and various club activities. Plattsmouth enjoys the competitive athletic and educational challenges of the Eastern Midlands Conference, while the student government encourages civic engagement in school and community affairs.
Principal's Welcome Message
Greetings from Plattsmouth High School!
We are a recognized, award-winning high school by the Nebraska Department of Education for being the Outstanding Rule 47 Career Academy Program. Plattsmouth High School offers a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum. Our goal is to prepare students for life readiness, post-secondary education, and careers.
Plattsmouth High School is one of the first schools in the State of Nebraska to operate wall-to-wall career academies. Students have the opportunity to design their education around their individual strengths and future career goals. Students complete job interviews, engage in job shadowing, participate in internships, and create a portfolio of their learning. Our goal through wall-to-wall academies is to help ALL students reach their potential and make curriculum relevant to their future endeavors.
Our work at PHS is grounded in three critical words: relationships, engagement, and encouragement. Each staff member is committed to building a strong relationship with students in an engaging environment. At the same time, we work to inspire students to do more than they thought they could.
Plattsmouth High School also offers many opportunities for our students to be engaged in the Arts, Activities, and Athletics. The end result is a school experience marked by considerable academic and personal growth that prepares our students for whatever their future may bring.
Our students and staff have Plattsmouth Pride. They are:
Positive
Respectful
Intentional
Determined
Engaged.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Plattsmouth High School, welcome you to our school.
Go Blue Devils!
